Education as we know it is changing.
We, as teachers, are entering into an age unlike any other in history. It is an age where educators, for the first time, no longer hold the keys that control the flow of information. And the primary cause of this turning point? The Internet.
With vast amounts of information on demand, endless entertainment and a social network that defies belief, it is little wonder many students spend considerable time trolling the World Wide Web. Our students who have gown up with this fast-paced technology are accustomed to getting information, on-demand and at the click of a button. They often become complacent about their schooling, given that online, they are the ones to control their learning. They are truly, “Digital Natives.”
Many teachers, lacking the confidence to delve into this vast realm of educational potential, worriedly dodge around its implementation in the classroom, despite having the importance of ICT integration drummed into them from every possible angle.
This is why our website has been developed, as we hope to provide tips, guides and ideas to help the ICT adopting teacher in transforming their teaching.
